Day 2 Recap

Wow, day 2 of 9 is almost in the books, and to say that it is been a good start would be an understatement.  The facility here in Taylor commonly known as TSX is in a class of its own.  4 rinks, one arena style, and a 2 story lobby in the center.  It really makes for an unbelievable environment for all the sponsors and spectators in attendance.

One of the things we really concentrated on heading into this years National Champtionships was our video production.  Without a doubt, one of the highlights of the event thus far has been the TORHS 2Hot TV.  Media director George Brown, in conjunction with film editor Itan Chavira and Dangl Productions have done an amazing job shooting video, getting highlights, editing video, and running the shows.  If you have not already done so, make sure you visit our Media page, http://www.torhs2hot4ice.com/videos to check them out.

Walking through the facility, its hard not to notice how good sponsorship row looks.  TOUR Hockey, Alkali Hockey, Vaughn Eagle, Revision Hockey, and Dangl Productions have their booths set up, and the place is buzzing with people. I want to make sure we once again thank all of our sponsors who have supported us throughout the year.

As for the hockey, this first weekend has featured the AAA division in Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam, Squirt AA, D1, Mens, Women, and Senior.  We have had some amazing games, with several upsets.  At one point on the board, there was 5 straight games decided by a shootout.  One of the games that caught my eye was the D1 game that featured the Jr. Mudcats facing off against Infamous.  The Jr. Mudcats threw everything but the kitchen sink at Chris Kirk, but he was phenomenal and stole the game for Infamous.

Tomorrow is a big day, with our first Championships taking place.  I just finished watching the last game of the night, which featured Ron B., Dave McNeil, and Mike Bell in the 40 and over division.  Unfortunately, they came up just short.  Mike Bell's cousin Willie was in attendence, cheering him on.

Off to grab a bite to eat, we will check back in with you tomorrow....
