MANAGEMENT

RON BEILSTEN

Ron has been the man behind TORHS America since 2008.  However, his roots in the sport date back to 1974, when he played in his first National Championship, which at that time, was conducted by the USAC. Ron has served as a Team USA Jr coach and Mens team selection committee member.  In addition, Ron has coached in the RHI pro league, and currently holds the position of Head Coach of the Men’s Division 1 Roller Hockey team at Lindenwood University, where he is the winningest coach in Division 1 Roller Hockey history.

JOE BERTACCINI

Joe took over ownership of 2Hot4Ice in 2010, but has been in the industry for over 20 years, mostly as a player.  He grew up in New Jersey, playing high school ice hockey at Seton Hall Prep and his Junior hockey for the New Jersey Rockets, before heading to the University of Vermont.  Currently, he also serves as the President of one of the most recognized brands of roller hockey in PHAT TAPE. He brings a constant passion for the game to the table and is a tireless worker. Joe brings a very structured approach to the tournament business, and strongly believes in customer service as the backbone of his business.

TOURNAMENT STAFF

John Gelement – National Tournament Director

John has been involved in the roller hockey community for nearly 20 years. Starting out as an official for all levels of play including TORHS America National Championships and USARS World Championships, he branched into management in 2003. After a 2 year stint at Joe Dumars’ Fieldhouse he took a position as the National Director of Operations for TORHS America. In 2007, John came back to Joe Dumars’ Fieldhouse as the Assistant Director of Hockey Operations, and has been a valuable employee since.  In 2010 John ventured back to TORHS under their new ownership as a National Tournament Director.

George Brown – National Tournament Director

George has been on board with TORHS since 2004.  George played ice until he was 14, at which point he turned to roller.  George began his coaching career at the age of 15 with a local travel team out of Buffalo, NY (Firebirds).  George absolutely loves what he does, and loves the people he gets to be around during the inline hockey season.  During the offseason, George teaches at a Performing Arts high school, he is a professional musical theatre actor, and has recorded a CD with the gospel choir he founded and directs

Michael Bell – National Tournament Director

Michael has been a part of roller hockey since 1990 when he started playing on his fraternity team at Sam Houston State in 1991. Since then, he has officiated the game since 1996 and ventured into the management part of the game in 2010. He is currently commissioner of the Missouri Inline Hockey Association where they average 80 high school and junior high teams each year on the road to the state championships. When Mike is not putting time in with hockey, he is working full time at Enterprise Rent-A-Car Information Technologies and donating his time as an international judge for inline speed skating.

Chris Treft – Media and Tournament Director

‘Trefty’ is entering his seventh full season with TORHS Hockey.  He started playing roller hockey at age 3 ruining wheels on back country roads and in his barn in the countryside south of Fort Wayne, IN.  In addition to doing play-by-play at our National Championships, Trefty has broadcasting experience in the AHL and ECHL and is currently the Video and Media Manager for the United States Hockey League (USHL). Aside from his broadcasting and tournament directing with TORHS, Trefty is also the man responsible for all the league videos and social media sites.
