Mixed Emotions as JCC Kicks Off

The tradition of TORHS2Hot4Ice kicking our Mid-West Regional Season off at the JCC is something that I have always looked forward to.  This year though, I have mixed emotions for the event.  This is one of the largest events we have held at this building (we are hosting 38 teams this weekend which is up by 20% from last year), but something is definitely missing.  The hockey community lost an amazing person last year in Theresa Fulgenzi.  We always walked in on Friday to set up for this event to her smiling face, and were able to sit down and catch up on all the amazing things that she had done since our last visit.  The impact that she had (and still does) on so many of the youth players in the area is amazing.  She had such an infectious personality, you couldn't help but be in a good mood around her.  From the bounce in her step to the positive attitude she always had behind the bench of the Reebok teams she was just a person that everyone enjoyed being around (let's not forget she was one hell of a hockey player too!).

Vinny and Tracy have done a great job here at the Inline Hockey Center, but the feeling is still different without "T" around.

The Inline Hockey Center, in conjunction with the Jewish Community Center has started the "T-Strong Fund" which helps under privileged youth players participate in it's programs.  If you would like information on how you can donate to the program, please visit this link.  T-Strong Fund

Theresa, you may be gone, but will never be forgotten!  All of us at TORHS2Hot4Ice miss you greatly, and we know that you're smiling down on all of us this weekend!
