Flying High!

The Flying Monkeys lived up to their name this afternoon with a dominating performance in the Mite Final.  They Monkeys got out of the gates quick and never looked back as they claimed the Mite Division crown 8-0 over the McDonough Lizard Kings.  Great goaltending from Jacob Brott (Mite Top Goalie) helped propel the Monkeys to a 5-0 weekend record, and Ethan Aponte led the way with solid play on both sides of the red line.  

In the Mens Gold Division Alkali Assault Premier cruised through the round robin going undefeated in 4 games, and continued their hot streak in the playoffs knocking off Blackout in the Semi-Final and beating the Carolina Comets 5-2 in the championship game.  

Vinny Cafone was the High Scorer in the division for Premier, but his biggest highlight of the weekend was after his games were done.  After accepting his High Scorer plaque and stick, Vinny picked two players from the upcoming Atom Championship game and had them come out to center ice for a rock, paper, scissors best 2 out of 3 battle.  The winner took home Vinny's brand new stick, and really capped off a great weekend both on and off the rink for Cafone.
